t minus 2 days

wow.  so the move is becoming more real.  on tuesday jenn and ajaye left to head back to michigan, with me back in cali to deal with the movers and finishing touches.  taking ajaye around the "blue house" to say goodbye was pretty emotional, both because she loves the house so much and also because it means we're one step closer to leaving.

later on tuesday the movers came to pack.  i spent time finishing organizing and packing some stuff until they showed up at 11 AM.  i had thought we did a good job purging all our crap.  that is, before i saw the movers need nearly 10 hours to pack everything.  i don't know how it happened.  i think the stuff multiplied while it was all in the garage.  before they left i sent the movers on their way with some beer and most of a pint of southern comfort.  gosh, i hope they were all 21.  ah, well, as long as they don't kill anyone.

i was talking with the packers before they left.  one of the guys asked what i thought about leaving california when they have such "fine women".  well, i said, i'm married and thus not in the game anymore (unlike kobe, but i digress).  he then uttered one of the most hilarious comments i've ever heard: "yeah, my wife and me have been together 15 years, but only married for 7.  i haven't cheated on her since before we were married.  it's HARD."  in the words of brad kulick, "what, does he want a cookie?"

wednesday the driver showed up with a 63-foot trailer.  i've never seen a 63-foot trailer before.  it's LONG.  henry and dennis (russian dudes) loaded the truck in about 5 hours, leaving me in an empty house with my laptop, router, and dsl modem.  weird.  that night i slept on the air mattress with flannel sheets.  the only problem is that i needed a blanket, because i woke up at 6:00 am shivering so badly i could not get back to sleep.  argh.

today was tough.  back and forth to work and home for final cleanup and walkthru.  the good news is i sold a bunch of stuff at work, so i have a little cash.  had dinner with brad, jr, and coach greg -- the usual sushi, but a new place with killer spicy tuna rolls.  as usual, the conversation was good and greg gave us more bits of his seemingly infinite knowledge.  i sure will miss seeing these guys.

tomorrow will be harder, i think, so i should hit the sack.
