the big drive, day 1
(thanks to bfuller for hooking me up -- it allowed me to post this.)
so we headed out of dodge on friday. had breakfast with brad and kelley at hobee's (of course), then gathered all our stuff and hit the road. we had a slight detour at the old 'hood -- visiting gilda and maya for a bit -- before really getting out.
we hit the bay bridge at 1 pm and, of course, it was crowded. more traffic as we hit the maze, berkeley, vallejo, etc., but eventually it thinned out. we stopped in folsom for a quick dinner and then drove the rest of the way to tahoe.
upon arriving in tahoe we discovered that our room's screens were broken and they had no more. they offered a fan. great, i thought, until she showed up at the room with a fan measuring a whopping 12" x 12". oooooh, hope i don't FREEZE to death. i talked to the guy who was working and he brought me a bigger oscillating fan. you'd think for the price we paid they might actually try to HELP. oh, well, i can't make everyone give a sh!t about their job.
after the fans were set we actually got to sleep.
