bored? um... no
so i went to radio shack to buy a cable modem (can't get dsl and my discount, grrr) because they have a deal going on now where you get a free modem (after rebate, of course) and a $75 gift card. great, sign me up!
while i was there i was talking to the 3 young punks who were working that day. the punk-in-charge was the "assistant manager" (translation: worked there more than 3 months) and was about 20 years old. i mentioned that i work for yahoo!, but i couldn't get dsl. he asked what i do, and said that i write code. he said, "don't you get bored doing that ALL DAY"?
hmmm, let me see:
am i bored that my project is used by millions of people? um... no.
am i bored that i get to play with new technology? um... no.
am i bored that they let me move to michigan and telecommute? um... no.
am i bored that i don't have to drive to work? um... no.
am i bored that the stock is north of $40 now? um... no.
let's put it this way, son. even if i were bored at all, i'm not as bored as i would be if i worked at the fricking radio shack all day.

Dude, you should have told them that we frequently have events where we drink at work on Fridays and get free food. He would have said “whoa”.
