we are live!

ok, ok, so you haven't heard from me in a loooong time.

as a peace offering for my complete absence, i bring you a preview release of Yahoo! Messenger for Vista. right now we are supporting 32-bit Vista only, but we expect to have 64-bit support very soon.

this is a preview release, so there are a number of things that you WON'T find in this release. see the Yahoo! Messenger blog for a more detailed list.

of course, please feel free to send feedback using the feedback form with opinions (positive and negative), questions, feature requests, whatever. we love to hear from our users to find out how we can make the product better.

as far as blogging, i have a number of interesting articles to write based on what i've learned in the last 6 months. i just have to actually WRITE THEM. but first, i need to get some sleep.

happy messaging!

The screenshots look great, can’t wait to try it once you support 64-bit! How soon is “very soon”? Days, weeks, months?

Keep up the good work.

thanks, joseph!

you will be happy to hear that we have pushed a version of the client
with 64-bit support. we got a lot of feedback from the community
that it was important to have this support right away, so
we pushed our QA team to complete their testing cycle on it
immediately. we rolled it out this morning at around 10:15 AM PST.

you can download it here:

http://messenger.yahoo.com/download_vista.php

please let me know if you have any issues with it. if for some reason
the installer still denies you on 64-bit, clear your browser’s cache
and try again.
